humph...i want the apartment to look like a shanghai nightclub.

cindy gallop, chairman of BBH (one of the biggest advertising firms out there) seems like a dream client, to which the interior designer responded "well howsahbout we paint the whole apartment a black lacquered chinese box?"  apparently trust was a big deciding factor.  the apartment now acquires all its light from pops of color that reflect off the flea market finds, vacation souvenirs, and just about 30 years of intellectually fine-tuned hoarding (ehm gucci chainsaw...probably limited edition huh?)

apartment look familiar? it was converted from the first YMCA locker rooms in the U.S.

think this magazine is pretty cool, editorials aren't fancy but certainly stick with you, esp with photographer maciek kobielski taking the photos and lily donaldson posing

A ROOM WITH A VIEW

jill stuart's house y'all featured in elle decor this month.  think its cool to look at a designer and see what they did with their home, and its evident that her label can be seen here: feminine and chic. i've always appreciated the aesthetics of a good room, she definitely went for a serene minimalist approach to living, which is suitable because the apartment is located downtown next to the blue, dirty, calm hudson river.  the art is beautiful, wish there were more darker colors somewhere...anywhere
 i bet she makes her guests take off their shoes before they enter,  who are we kidding- i'd probably make them do the same
